Autumn Half Done

August 14, 2017
The chilly mornings and that fall time smell have slowly been creeping up. We have hit the transition period in the Midwest for weather and clothing. I always get this slight anxiety during transition periods in the seasons because I know I’m about to embark on another new season and new products. I’ve been less drawn to trendy pieces and more drawn to pieces that will surpass the trends. So that has been helping simplify the shopping.
I found this skirt a while ago at a thrift store and wore it once. After rediscovering it in the black hole I call a closet, I knew it needed something. It hit me at a really strange spot and the impatient person I am, I wanted to wear it that day. One button removed and moved, we were in business. Sometimes all it takes is some scissors, pliers, and a creative tick to make something work. Plus I liked the asymmetric button scheme it gave me.
