No Heat July Challenge

June 18, 2013
Summer is one of the worst seasons for hair, and trying to keep it in good condition and healthy. With the sun, sand, ocean water, and chlorine, my hair is put through a lot. I decided to try out a No Heat July for two reasons: to see if I can start and finish it, and to improve my hair as much as possible.
This No Heat July consists of exactly that, no curling iron, straightener, or blow dryer. This is probably going to be a little tough since I use at least one of them a day! If I do use my blow dryer it will be on cool. I will be posting hairstyles and how to’s so you girlies can follow along and also try out No Heat July with me.
I also have been taking Biotin to help my hair grow a little faster. I will still be using my Nioxin shampoo and conditioner. Crossing my fingers this will help my hair!

Some products I will be using to style and protect my hair are: Not Your Mother’s Sea Salt Spray, Rusk St8, AG Fast Food leave in conditioner, CHI Keratin Mist, Aussie Hair Insurance Heat Protecting Shine Spray, and Macadamia Deep Repair Masque. Each of these products play a key role in styling my hair without heat. They are all pictured in the header photo!

NYM Sea Salt Spray is used for getting those “just got out of the ocean” beachy locks. Rusk St8 is a product you use right out of the shower, and it helps with straightening your hair and smoothing away those flyaways. AG Fast Food is my everyday leave in conditioner. CHI Keratin Mist is a strengthening spray to give your hair back some nutrients it needs. Aussie Hair Insurance Spray is perfect for both heat protection and also adding shine. Lastly, Macadamia Deep Repair Masque is the perfect deep conditioner for a hair pick-me-up. I used it twice so far and all of my split ends looked extremely better after using it!

I will be starting this July 1st! Wish me luck!
