DIY: Metallic Spike Earrings

May 4, 2013

Here is how you make these adorable and simple metallic spike earrings. I had recently came across a pair similar to this, and knew I could make them myself! Here is how!

What you need:
Foam board or a sturdy material (wooden craft sticks would work)
Scissors
Earring bases
Pencil
Hot glue gun
Some sort of paint or nail polish (I used Color Club in Disco Nap)

1. Draw out the shape of the spike.

2. Cut the spikes out carefully. If you cut slow the foam will bend and potentially break so cut these out fairly quickly.

3. Paint the foam spikes with the paint or nail polish of your choice.

4. Let the paint dry then hot glue the earring base onto the back. I painted the back also because they do hang lower than your earlobe.

And you are done!
